After shopping around and purchasing a few “cheap” projectors I realized that I needed to bight the bullet and buy something a bit more expensive. I did a ton of research and for my price point of around $300 I found this projector. I was a bit skeptical as I have had no luck with projectors recently and was nervous about throwing down so much money. Rest assured, this projector is worth it! I wanted a nice affordable movie projector for backyard movie nights with friends. Trying to find one that provided a great picture along with being affordable is no easy task. But this model is fantastic. I can’t get over how crisp the picture is. And we use nothing but a white sheet pinned between two hammok posts. Even in a room with mid day sun the picture is still bright and clear. The fan is not too loud and the controls are very easy to work. My only concern is that finding the right connection for my macbook 5,1 unibody has been a hassle. We connected it to a cheap dvd player and it worked great. Also there are RCA connections and we hooked it up to a vintage receiver and speakers for an amazing sound experience. If you can afford the price, this is a great buy. I highly recommend this projector!!! Machine works exactly as specified and is perfect for the intended use in a classroom. Works just as well as the more expensive ones and when divided by the hours per bulb is cheaper. Bought this projector and I am very pleased so far. Great image, pic quality and portable size. The only thing that would make it perfect is to have a shorter throw ratio or a bigger zoom ratio. Great for the price though. This is my first DPL projector. I like t better than my old Epson LCD. I had been looking for a home projector that would satisfy my needs and not break the bank account. So many devices that I buy are so complicated – it was so very nice that this projector worked right out of the box – there isn’t much to it – you just have to power it on and then plug in your device with the provided cords – it really works very well with Windows 7 laptops. The setup time was at most 30 seconds to unpack and plug in – remarkable in this day and age – with how much time I have to fiddle around with an iphone to make it function. The only thing that I would suggest is that you look into buying at the same time is a good set of speakers – while there is sound on this – you will want more and need more as you use this device. I am very pleased with this projector and the amazon price is amazing! I have hooked it up to my direct TV, my net book and my Magnavox portable DVD player it has worked better than I expected. The only issue I had was hooking up my DVD player “I was not using the right mini rca adapter”. I have tried it with lights on in my office a 10 ft x 10 ft room with 2 4 ft 2 bulb florescent bulb fixtures. The quality is still pretty good. With the lights off in ambient lights it is great. I have not tried outside in the daylight such as under an open pavilion however I think that it should work very well since it has a great picture in my office with a window. I am working on a video to show how each picture show up and as soon as I get it done I will post it.
