This is relatively easy to set up. I was up and running in 5 minutes. I have cablevision internet. A piece of advice. Call cablevision for tech support on your mobile phone (should you have to reset the cable modem). Voice reception is excellent. I have had 0 dropped calls and 0 sound quality issues. My monthly bill has been $3.47 (taxes). Two more months and this has paid for itself. The rest is gravy!
No issues with Netflix streaming and using the phone at the same time. In case you are wondering, my setup is cable modem to Ooma to D-Link router (phone is upstream of the router).

Ooma is great. I have not been able to transfer my number over to Ooma bc of some technical stuff, but that is not that big of a deal to me. There is a bit of a delay in talking to other people on the phone. But overall, if you can say bye to ATT and have a phone for free, it rocks!

This is the second Telo I have purchased. I have one installed in my home and bought this as a gift for my sister.

The Ooma works very well with voice clarity that matches our old AT&T service. Furthermore, I got got a $100 credit for international calls and called a family member visiting Peru several times recently for FREE. I still have over 1200 minutes of international calling left. What a deal!

We do purchase the Premium service, rather than just using the free service, but you don’t have to buy it. Calls throughout the U.S. are free, even with the free service.

I would recommend the Ooma to anyone who wants to reduce or even eliminate their phone bill.

AT&T keeps calling, wanting me to come back. I ask if they will pay me to take their service, since that’s the only deal they could give me that’s better than the unlimited free nationwide calling I get with Ooma. So far, AT&T hasn’t agreed to the deal. )

We’re a pretty tech savy household and our Ooma Telo has been simply awful. The telo works sporadically at best, and the ONLY way to reboot the unit is by unplugging it and then plugging it back in. The unit has NO reset button. Actually it had no buttons at all, but that’s a different issue. We have contacted OOMA multiple times, and only been offered the same reboot instruction from disinterested call center staff in the Philippines. Indeed you can get a bad unit from any company, but Ooma customer service is awful and there has been no offer to replace the unit. VHS or Beta? Skype or Ooma? We picked the loser.

The advice we received from Ooma after a half dozen calls and ten plus emails.

I am sorry to hear about the troubles. To turn the device off, you just have to unplug the power cord. You connect the power cord back to turn it on. Not seeing any lights on your unit by the time that you power it back on means that it’s either not set to illuminate any lights or there is something wrong with it. Have you tried pressing the sun icon on your Ooma device when the power cord is connected? If not, please try that.

Yup, know how an outlet works and pretty sure we checked to make sure it’s on before we sent you an email.
