The camera works really well. I like the internal storage capacity and the features that are included work really well. I would like to have a little more picture stability, we have to take a few extra shots due to some photos being blurry. All in all we really happy with it. This camcorder comes with an abundance of junk software. Additionally, even though the footage format is .AVI, it was not compatible with Sony Vegas 10 Pro. Video quality was excellent however, but useless to me. This camcorder is super small, it’s simple to use and it has the BEST video quality I’ve ever seen. A friend of mine has a Slr camera with video capability worth about $800 and this little pocket sized camera is just as good or better! The battery lasts about an hour and a half to two hours. They sell a solar battery pack for it for only $40 so I’m thinking of getting that too. What surprised me when I opened the box is that it came with cables! No hunting them down at the local Radio Shacks. I just love, love, love, love the camera. Motion picture quality! $1000 video quality in $150 camcorder! If you’re unsure about buying this, just do it! I was hesitant at first too after reading some “not so good reviews” but I managed to look past them and give it a try. I am very happy with my purchase. Recording at 1080p is GREAT quality, but 720p is what I like better. It makes a smaller file size and it still looks AWESOME! I know some people put that they have to edit the videos in the software included. I was worried about that, but honestly you can edit it in any software that supports the codec. One great software package that I’ve used is Serif MoviePlus. Lastly, this camera is very easy to use. I’m so happy I bought it! I don’t think you can beat it for the price. I wanted a reasonably priced consumer HD camcorder that was capable of at least 60 fps, and this fits the bill. The on-board 4G of storage is a nice bonus. It’s not the best in low-light (but it’s not the worst either) and the sound quality leaves something to be desired. Also, the battery does drain quite quickly, but additional batteries aren’t too expensive. That said, the overall video quality is really good, and it’s small and light. I could have spent a lot more money to get something a little better, but this fits my needs and is within my budget. Before buying this camera, we read reviews for it at several different places. A couple of reviews said they didn’t know why people were complaining about a strange red streak at the corner of the view finder. I can’t find the reviews that said there was a problem with this, so I bought the camera and the first thing I saw was a red streak – actually more like a red smear acros the middle of the view finder. I downloaded the videos and pictures that I took to my computer and low and behold – the red smear is on them.
I just got this camera and haven’t had time to learn all the bells and whistles, however from what I have used on it so far, I love it. It’s very easy to use and the sound is good. The picture is good and now I feel like a dummy because I missed one little piece of plastic that nearly made me send this camera back. I had checked all the places where they have the plastic (and yes they do have plastic on the end of the battery) but I missed the one that was directly on the small part of the lens – not the view finder. It had a red streak on it and therefore, that is why my pictures and video’s had the red smear. Removed it and now the camera is fine.
This seems to be a great value so far. Can’t wait to really use it and use all the features. I do have to say that it is strange that when we called the company to ask what could be causing the red smear, they said they had no idea and said I should send it back and they would send us another one. I would have thought that maybe they would have asked if we had found that tiny lens plastic.
