I really love this printer. The print quality is excellent – really quite amazing actually. As a photo printer it can even print all the way to the edge of the paper. I love the rear paper tray – makes it much easier to feed in special papers. It’s quiet and fast. And the wireless was easy to set up and works very well. I especially love being able to scan, add additional pages to a scan, and then send the scan either to an email address or directly to a connected computer. Very highly recommended! I’ve upgraded to this product after having an older model that gave up the ghost about a month ago… have not put it through all it’s paces yet… but will report back when I test it further! I have had this printer for a week. The drivers wouldn’t load and I had to find the current drivers at the Canon website–it took an hour to set up. It linked to the wireless modem easily. It’s a beautiful machine, but collects dust easily. The photo paper goes in the back, which requires pulling the machine out from the wall about 6″ to load and hold the paper, which isn’t a horrible problem, but it was a tight fit for me and I can’t leave it pulled out all the time. The paper tray holds about a 100 sheets, which is fine for me at home. The photo prints are good enough on HIGH quality print mode, but are pretty bad on standard. I haven’t used the scan feature and haven’t owned it long enough to know how the ink lasts. It boots up quickly, reasonably quiet, and the type print is good enough.
Other than the struggle setting it up, so far it’s been a good printer. No paper jams, it doesn’t seem to automatically clean the print heads, which uses up a lot of ink, and it is an attractive machine. It would be nice if it were a little smaller. I have to say that I do really like this printer. I will note that it may not be the best product for everyday use. It uses up a lot of expensive ink, the paper tray holds only a minimal amount of paper, and it doesn’t print quickly. That said, it prints beautiful photos, has a great SD slot, and touch screen function. I think it is a great 2nd printer for required higher quality print jobs.
