Sony KDL37S5500U

Excellent Product, I love it. In order to get the best from Sony KDL37S5500U tv, you must setup the picture settings individually for each input source (DVD, Cable or Satellite, TV, etc). If you want to get the maximum resolution on Sony KDL37S5500U tv, please subscribe to a HD service.

One of the best online deal I have ever done . The quality of TV is among the best. I recieved my order in a reasonable time. I enjoy Sony KDL37S5500U .

Sony 37L4000 WOW. I had looked for a long time for an HD LCD TV. I was very reluctant to buy, as I wanted an excellent TV for a great price. We looked at many tv’s at all the typical stores and finally decided on Sony, as we have always had good lcuk with Sony. Then the big question, what size and what resolution. We took measurements and decided 37″ was just right for our room. Then the resolution. Had to be 1080p right, wrong. You don’t have to have the highest resolution all the time. The 1080 signals come in great in on the 720. Remember Sony KDL37S5500U is still an improvement over the CRT that you are upgrading from. Now where to buy the tv. Checked all around, watched Amazon for several weeks, noticed the price dropping and kept watching. Finally got to my price point and I bought. Next week the price went up by $150. Amazon delivered, arrived perfect and they set Sony KDL37S5500U up. Sony KDL37S5500U is AWESOME! I am extremely happy with my decision. I would do this over again. Now for the TV in the family room…..

Sony KDL32S5500U and me

Sony KDL32S5500U

Help wanted for color adjustment of Sony Model KDL-32M4000. Product (Sony Model KDL-32M4000) is generaly satsfactory except I dont seem to get the color adjusted to equal the brightness, intensity and depth that I have on my old (5 years) 27 in. Toshiba. I dont seem to be able to achieve the quality of color that I have observed in stores on Sony KDL32S5500U model Sony. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sony 32″ LCD is excellent. A few months ago I ordered our Sony Bravia 32″ LCD TV from Amazon. Sony KDL32S5500U was a good price, delivered on time by a very accomodating trucker. My wife and I (in our 70’s) are delighted with everything about this TV. My only hassle was setting Sony KDL32S5500U up, and we had to call our cable provider to come and complete it. Other than that, we can’t be more pleased – especially with the clarity of the hi-def, but also with the clarity and color from our not hi-def DVDs. I have a high regard for Sony products and feel that they are worth the somewhat higher price than some other brands.

Nice Multimedia screen. Coaxial Digital audio ouput is what I was looking for, Sony KDL32S5500U one has it. Slow Channel change, bad characteristic, but most digital tuners behave Sony KDL32S5500U way. Play a dvd with your computer and high end graphics card and you won’t believe your eyes. Nice 32″ multimedia screen. probably the best in it’s price range. I will never watct a CRT again. ..Jake@Jagsound

Sony DSCW210P answer

Posted by hotstubb on 30th April 2009

Sony DSCW210P

Great Camera. I think Sony DSCW210P is an excellent camera for it’s cost.

Great picture size, easy to use, long battery life.

What else could you want for that price?!

Love It. While travelling at Salt Lake City, I was compelled to buy a camera. The surroundings demanded me to take them home, well at least as pictures. I was looking out for Digital camera for some time as our old Fuji 4100 was a bit bulky to carry on a business trip. I didn’t want to spend too much money on the camera. I didn’t want a SLR, that was too much for me both in terms of money, involvement and care. I just wanted to snap shots and I could get good pictures that is pretty much all I needed.

Of course, I started with Consumer reports. I didn’t want the tiniest ones; these introduce quite a bit of shake during the shots. The compact ones listed the DSC-W170 as a best buy. The W300 was what I ideally wanted, but about $300 wasn’t what I wanted to spend. At SLC, I hopped around Walmarts, Bestbuys, Targets but couldn’t find any of the DSC-Ws. These take wide angle shots, good for landscape pictures. I guess this model range is going out and will probably be replaced by a newer range. Hence, Sony DSCW210P was a tough search.

Finally, an Office Depot had the W120 and W150. I settled for the W120. The camera itself is about 3.5″ x 2.25″, which makes Sony DSCW210P easier to drop Sony DSCW210P into the shirt pocket. Sony DSCW210P has a built in flash and a view finder. Now a view finder is very important as in bright light, the LCD panel gets washed out and you can’t see well what you want to snap. Sony DSCW210P also has a 4x Optical zoom. Consumer reports says you should have at least 3x Optical zoom. And Sony DSCW210P produces 7.2 Megapixels photos. Yes, Sony DSCW210P is not 15 MP, but 7.2 is good enough for 10×8 prints; by the way I never print photos now-a-days. We only view Sony DSCW210P on the screen. Sony DSCW210P also has a smile shutter, that I haven’t tried. There are other loads of features – you can connect the camera to a HD TV and the camera somehow manages to show a great picture on the big screen. Consumer Reports said that worked well; I haven’t tried that. See, I just need a functional good camera to snap the moment and get decent pictures. You have many modes preset such as portrait, twilight (this is neat), soft focus (only subject is sharp, rest is blurred), self timer, 2 (or more) second delay so that Sony DSCW210P eliminates the shake introduced by pressing the button.

The battery is meant for the camera i.e., you can’t use AA/AAA batteries. The small size of the battery makes the whole camera small. The charger is neat, you can plug the charger right into the outlet without long wires hanging. After the charging, you can snap the charger’s prongs? back into the casing, making Sony DSCW210P easier to carry along on a trip. The Optical stabilization (Super Steady Shot, as Sony calls it) should be good, as I haven’t noticed any shake in the pictures I took, given the size of the camera.

You can view back the pictures as a slide show on the LCD panel and also play some music, if that is what you want. So far I have taken over 200 pictures and am quite happy with the camera. I read that there are some software bugs that prop up (some macro error), but haven’t seen that yet. Hopefully, I don’t ever.

You can connect the camera to your computer’s USB drive and transfer pictures directly without any special software, thought the camera comes with Sony’s own picture organizer and viewer. The camera requires the Memory Pro stick card, which is slightly more expensive than your typical SD cards. If you connect to the computer with the secondary memory on, you won’t see the built-in memory card. You have to remove the memory stick pro to access the internal memory.

On the rush to go to the mountains, I had to pick up a 2 GB MSP for about twenty two bucks, but if you plan ahead you can find a 4GB for a little less on the Internet. The built in memory is good enough for about 15 pictures at lower resolution. The menu is extensive and hence not exactly simple; given the vast amount of features, Sony DSCW210P is hard to make Sony DSCW210P a simpler one, I guess.

Overall for about $130 I paid for the camera ($22 for the additional memory), I am very satisfied with it. You can view the pictures I took at Picasa – http://picasaweb.google.com/ashwini.aragam/SaltLakeCityFeb200902?feat=directlink

NIce camera. Very nice camera. For Sony DSCW210P price range one of the best. Easy to use and taking very good quality pictures.

Think of DSCW210S Sony ?

Posted by hotstubb on 30th April 2009

Sony DSCW210S

Picture quality for printing and viewing on a computer is not good. I bought Sony DSCW210S camera to replace an aging Kodak Z730. I wanted a compact camera that would take great pictures with a decent optical zoom (this one has 5X) and an eyepiece viewer. Sony DSCW210S camera (the DSC-W150) seemed to have everything I was looking for. On the large Sony LCD my pictures look spectacular (clear, sharp, etc.), but when I connect the camera to my computer or bring the memory card to a store to print pictures, the quality of my pictures changes dramatically for the worse. The pictures from the Sony camera come out unclear, blurry, etc. My old Kodak camera takes much better pictures than Sony DSCW210S Sony one does.

All I can say is buyer beware on Sony DSCW210S camera.

Sony Cybershot DSCW150/R. Sony DSCW210S is a nice looking camera and probably takes nice pictures; however, Sony DSCW210S broke on me very quick. The camera’s lens would not stay open; Sony DSCW210S would go thru a cycle opening and then closing for about 3 times, then display error message asking to power cycle the camera again. I have not even used Sony DSCW210S for 3 weeks! I found many people on website complaining about the same issue. I’m currently in the process of returning it. I would not buy Sony DSCW210S again.

Fantastic little camera. I got this for my daughter as a grad gift. Sony DSCW210S takes really good pictures. Made me wonder why I use my big expensive Canon 30D. Sony DSCW210S has really cool features that my daughter and her friends find fun to use.

DSCW210G Sony series

Sony DSCW210G

Amazing camera. This camera is amazing! I love how big the screen is on the back and I also love how fast Sony DSCW210G takes the pictures! This is a very nice camera.

Sony Cybershot-Great camera / Bad Bundle. The Sony Cybershot W-120 takes great pictures and is a wonderful first camera for our 17year old. The case that we received is not what is shown in the picture…it is black, trimmed in pink, with no way to attach Sony DSCW210G to her purse or belt loop. This does NOT come with the mini SD card (that is shown in the picture next to the memory stick) that you will need in order to take more than 5 pictures. So order one in addition to this so that you can use your camera right away. The camera charges quickly and is very easy to use right out of the box (except for the memory card ;p ). I would order this camera again, but NOT this bundle. Choose a case separately so that you know exactly what you’ll be receiving.Sony Cyber-shot DSCW120MDG/P 7.2 MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom with Super Steady Shot (Pink) with LCS-TWE/PI Carrying Case and MSRW-MD1/P Memory Stick Duo Adaptor

Pretty in pink. Purchased this camera as a B-Day present for my wife, a woman who absolutely can not be bothered with reading instruction manuals or tinkering around with settings. Therefor a good point & shoot was definitely in order. Sony DSCW210G also had to look good and fit in her purse. Well, the SONY DSC-W120 provided all of that and some! The quality of the camera is excellent and the ‘pink rose’ color is quite pretty…not the childish look of a lot of other brands offering Sony DSCW210G in pink. I set up the basics for her, showed her the AUTO and EASY modes and she’s off and running taking beautiful pictures! I looked at and read reviews on many different cameras before settling on this one. The features, quality and looks of this SONY could not, IMHO, be beat! She and I are quite happy with this camera. The ONLY reason I don’t give Sony DSCW210G five stars is the outlandish prices SONY wants for any and all of their accesories, to include their memory sticks !!! SONY needs to come off of their high horse on that issue !

I love VAIO Sony CS21ZQ

Posted by hotstubb on 30th April 2009

Sony VAIO CS21ZQ

Solid machine with few flaws. “I purchased this computer almost a month ago when my $1200 Toshiba (of less than 2 years) crapped out on me and CompUSA’s takeover company lost my records for the replaceable warranty that I paid nearly $600 for. All this happened during my final week of college.

After 2 Toshibas, I was ready to try something else. When I saw this Vaio go on sale for $850, I knew Sony VAIO CS21ZQ was a steal for the specs that Sony VAIO CS21ZQ offered. Not convinced that Vista was better than XP, I took the chance anyway because of the roomy 3gigs of ram and 250gb HDD. Glad I did, because this machine runs Vista and all my regular apps really, really fast. Bootup time is less than a minute. I’m a heavy music/video user, so the external controls are a must (too bad not all Vaio’s have external controls like other lower end brands). The media iPod-like “wheel” controls are solid. The speakers are a downgrade compared to my Toshiba’s Harmon-Kardon speakers…the sound isn’t that bad, but the volume is way too low. So I use external speakers or headphones.

The screen is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen on any laptop. Sony VAIO CS21ZQ truly is amazing, and there’s no flex at all to it. Coming from a 14.1″, the 15.4″ feels a little big but the relative thinness of the case makes up for that. The keyboard is nicely spaced out, however the ‘backspace’ and ‘enter’ keys seem a tad loose. Wish Sony VAIO CS21ZQ had 4 USB ports instead of 3, Sony VAIO CS21ZQ would’ve been nice to have one located on the back. The powerjack is too close to the DVD-drive. Can’t say too much about the battery life since it’s been plugged in most of the time.

The only thing annoyingly wrong with this laptop, and Sony Vaios in general is the bloatware and AOL software that comes bundled in. You can’t even change the default homepage on IE7 because it’ll revert back to Sony-AOL’s homepage when you reboot. I don’t want to do a clean install so I made the permanent switch to Firefox. Overall, this is a solid machine…well built, fast, silent, and aesthetically pleasing in a minimalist way. Highly recommended!”

almost perfect. I love everything about this laptop except for the battery longevity. Sony VAIO CS21ZQ barely lasted 1.5 hours and the additional large capacity battery, which they shamelessly reminded you to buy by placing a sticker on your pristine laptop, is only 1.5 times longer (that’s less than 3 hours) than the original. Could be due to Vista (which has lots of issues).

Did not like Sony VAIO CS21ZQ for the price. I purchased this to get better performence. I had a VGN-FS780 before.

The only thing I can say good about this is Sony VAIO CS21ZQ is a fast machine and the case looks nice.

I ended up returning mine.

The cooling fan is to loud and Sony VAIO CS21ZQ blows the exhaust out the left side which I didnt like Sony VAIO CS21ZQ is easy to cover Sony VAIO CS21ZQ while grabbing the machine.

Also the screen on this was very dissapointing. I was used to my old Vaio with a nice bright screen. This computer has a nice screen BUT only if your looking at Sony VAIO CS21ZQ straight on.

If you stand up and look down at this comuter you cant see much at all. Its similar to the rear projection tvs where you have to be in the sweet spot to get the best picture.

Also I did not like the design of the static mouse. I am used to running my fingers over the pad to FEEL for the button. On this machine they made the buttons flush with the surface so you have to look at the pad to find the buttons

CS21SR Sony VAIO watch out

Posted by hotstubb on 30th April 2009

Sony VAIO CS21SR

It doesn’t even deserve one star!. My husband purchased this laptop for me for christmas before he deployed so that we could stay in touch. I love Sony VAIO CS21SR at first I downloaded pictures and installed wirless so that I could talk to him when ever. Well 2 days after opening Sony VAIO CS21SR the harddrive fried, not to mention that Sony won’t take Sony VAIO CS21SR back since we live overseas. I HATE THIS THINK what a waste of money!

Sony VAIO Vgn-CR409E. I have to return Sony VAIO CS21SR item because I think for me there License Agreement is outrageous SO PLEASE READ THERE LICENSE AGREEMENT PLEASE READ IT. Before Agreeing

I like the product but the license agreement is outrageous

The laptop of my choice. I purchased this laptop because of the style, the sony brand, and I was impressed with my families vaio’s, and i’m very pleased I did! One thing to start with is the price, Sony VAIO CS21SR is very good and competitive (I did look around) also the screen looks so bright and the picture is fantastic. I have grown ever fond of sony in the past couple of years but only recently have I been this happy with them. Everything I have ever bought with the name sony on Sony VAIO CS21SR has lived up to my ever growing expectations, this laptop is no exception. If you are looking around for a laptop I would advise to give sony’s modles a look, they have such style and class in there design, and are packed with features and nice layouts. This is a great laptop, I am happy I bought it.

Sony VAIO CS21SW change

Posted by hotstubb on 30th April 2009

Sony VAIO CS21SW

Consider a Configure-to-Order. I don’t have this computer yet — I just ordered Sony VAIO CS21SW today, from Sony’s website — but I am just coming to warn folks to consider buying Sony VAIO CS21SW from Sony’s website. Not for any loyalty reasons (I’m actually more loyal to Amazon.com than Sony!) but because of the cost. This is a nicely configured computer, but at Sony’s website you can configure this with a 2.4 GHz P series processor, 320 GB of HDD space at 7200 rpm, 4 GB of RAM, and ATI Radeon HD graphics with a HDMI output — for $1329. If you want the pink version, add $50. You can get the total package, tax and shipping included, for less than Amazon charges you for this before that. (Probably not their fault.)

And if you are a college student, join Sony Style Campus and get an extra discount. Actually, you might get the discount regardless of whether you are, as long as you register an account with them and log in when you buy it. I got a further discount, which means that I got the above-mentioned configuration for $1238 before tax ($1398 + tax, and shipping is free if you opt for the 5-day).

I’ll be back to review Sony VAIO CS21SW once I get it.

Not quite what I was expecting. I’ve been using Fijutsu’s Lifebooks for years so when this arrived, I was disappointed to find that I hadn’t bought a compact laptop but in fact a regular sized heavy laptop. Sony VAIO CS21SW is slightly smaller than large laptops but not small enough to make much difference, and it’s far heavier than the two pound laptops I’m used to.

The screen looks excellent. It’s bright and has great accurate color. The keyboard is full sized with plenty of space between the keys. The CPU is very fast as is the hard disk. This is the first laptop I’ve owned that had enough CPU, memory and a screen accurate enough to edit pictures and do color correction. The speakers are good although a lot of sound seems to be coming out of the bottom of the laptop.

The laptop does have a fan which isn’t noisy but is certainly not silent. The laptop runs very cool but a warm laptop has never bothered me. There is a lack of USB outputs (only two) and there is no HDMI out, only an old VGA. Sony VAIO CS21SW does have an SD slot as well as a slot for Sony’s beloved Memory Stick, probably for the Sony employees who have to use them. The trackpad buttons are strangely noisy but they give you good feedback. Battery life is acceptable but nothing outstanding. There are lots of “mode” buttons that some may find useful but I have yet to push any of them.

Sony is known for loading their laptops with every mediocre bit of software available and they don’t disappoint here. Allocate some time to remove a lot of poorly-written junk that will extend your boot time, fill your memory and clutter your screen.

What’s especially annoying is that there is a very powerful Intel graphics chip inside, however the DVD application Sony gives you isn’t compatible with Sony VAIO CS21SW — the hardware acceleration options are disabled. Sony VAIO CS21SW turns out you have to purchase one of two DVD players that are compatible with the chip’s MPEG acceleration (called Clear Video; check Intel’s web site). Of course most people aren’t going to know this so they’ll run their battery down watching a DVD with the free software-only player. Even those who know about the graphics chip won’t feel like buying a special player when they already got one with the laptop. Why can’t Sony include applications made for the very hardware you’ve just paid for?

And I agree with those who say that Vista is a tremendous burden on the system. You can forget about using the first gigabyte of memory for applications because Vista needs that just to boot up. Unfortunately no Linux distributions support the graphics chip yet but support for Sony VAIO CS21SW has been checked into freedesktop.org so it’s on the way.

Great!. This laptop is great! I bought mine approximately two-three monhs ago and have not found one thing about Sony VAIO CS21SW that I don’t like. This is a great laptop at an affordable price!

Details about CS21SP VAIO Sony

Posted by hotstubb on 30th April 2009

Sony VAIO CS21SP

Good laptop, but with the unhappy lack of choice for the OS. The laptop seems to be very good, but I had to spend many hours to replace the original (and heavy) Vista operational system by XP. Sony’s web-site says that Sony VAIO CS21SP laptop is compatible only with Windows Vista. I found in the internet a detailed guide on how to install XP (http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=4080662) on Vaio laptops. However, SONY’s website does not have XP drivers for the VGN-SR250 model, and I used instead those for VGN-SR240N (and everything seems to be Ok). The customers should not be forced to use the Vista OS.

Almost Perfect……. The Sony SR250J is a good laptop. I bought Sony VAIO CS21SP for my father but find that I am using Sony VAIO CS21SP far more than he. The machine is reasonably fast and 4gb of ram really helps Vista move along. However I did not give Sony VAIO CS21SP 4 stars because I feel sony should have included a recovery disc and not make the end user create one. Sony VAIO CS21SP took 3 hours to create 2 recovery dvd’s. Now I am not sure if Sony VAIO CS21SP created Sony VAIO CS21SP from the leaner install (removed all the unnecessary software) or from the recovery partition that sony does not mention Sony VAIO CS21SP has. Turns out there is a recovery partition that can be accessed to reinstall the computer back to factory.

The other gripe I have with the laptop is that the screen collects finger prints and dust real easy. So have some screen wipes handy. Otherwise the laptop is great. I love it, however its not for me so i am going to have to buy myself one. Also if you plan to install Linux in dual boot, research Sony VAIO CS21SP since this is an vista 64 bit install and i cant seem to get linux to boot up.

A tad frustrating!…..cost wise that is!!!!!. I received this notebook yesterday. Frustratingly, the price has dropped about $35 in the intervening two days between ordering and recieving the machine. Bummer. Regardless, here are my initial observations.

I am upgrading from the Vaio PCG-TR3A, a lovely little notebook however struggling now with only 2GB’s of RAM and, like it’s owner, an ageing processor. I was however impressed with the TR3A’s monitor which, with a pair of “cheater” reading glasses was clear and sharp, although a little small. My main reason for buying the TR3A was it’s portability however, after analysis I realized I really don’t travel as much as I would either like or can afford to, so Sony VAIO CS21SP was time to upgrade.

I decided to stay with Sony as opposed to other PC’s primarily for the monitor and research confirmed that Sony still appears to be ahead of the game in this department. I initially considered the new Vaio “Z” series, however I could not warrant paying the extra dollars based on my normal PC usuage and hence I decided on the Vaio SR series. My other major requirement/desire was for a “fingerprint” reader so that I could log on to Amazon that much more quickly to spend my hard earned “dosh”.

As usual, my new purchase arrived smack on time, ie, next day delivery at a very reasonable cost based on my “Amazon Prime” membership (highly recommended if you are an Amazon Junkie as I am). Interestingly the neoprene cover I ordered with the PC was delayed, by UPS Sony VAIO CS21SP appears, but it’s not a big deal right now however, when one pays for a “next day” service, maybe one should expect it?????

The PC was well packaged by Amazon and Sony. Out of the box there were no apparent problems. I was struck by how compact and light the SR is even though Sony VAIO CS21SP has a larger screen size than my TR. I have to also comment on the rubber studs that the machine sits on. I did read in my research that the studs are lacking in tactility (I think I just invented that word) and “pooh poohed” the comments I read. I have to report, however, that on our countertop surface, the SR reacts similar to the puck on a “table hockey” game. This is great if you want to share your recent web findings with your partner on the opposite side of the table, however you have to be aware of Sony VAIO CS21SP and a little careful. I’ll be honest, I was a little dismissive of this comment initially however Sony VAIO CS21SP is really evident however liveable with.

This is my first machine and real experience with Windows Vista and so far I have no real complaints. Connecting with my WiFi network went smoothly and upgrading Vista also went well. The SR screen so far meets my expectations although I have not challenged the machine graphically.

I am hugely impressed with the speed of the machine, especially on the web. My TR3A was exceedingly slow, even with an “n” wifi adapter. I also immediately notice the SR runs a lot cooler than the TR although I have to report I do not “game” or any such activity.

So far I am a little dissaponted with the “Fingerprint reader”. I registered my finger print however Sony VAIO CS21SP takes constant re-try’s to get a good reading when logging on! Now, this may be operator error and I need to work on my technique and consistency, however, I did think that Sony VAIO CS21SP would be a little more “friendly” and I hope that this aspect improves as Sony VAIO CS21SP was an important purchasing feature.

The keyboard is nicely spaced which helps as I am a touch typist…..hmmm,…..isn’t everybody these days? I am noticing a few errors….missed keys that is……beyond my normal typo’s…..but again that may be “operator error” and I need to give Sony VAIO CS21SP time. I also note a frustrating errant cursor secondary to, I believe, a very sensitive touch pad. Again I think this will impove as I become more familiar with the machine.

In general, I am pleased with the Sony Vaio SR250J and I hope as I become more familiar with the machine I will become even more enamored with it, and Sony VAIO CS21SP with me!!!! In today’s economy, Sony VAIO CS21SP may be worth waiting a week or two to purchase the machine if you are considering this computer, as, with luck, Sony VAIO CS21SP will be half the price I paid for it, however, that being said, Sony VAIO CS21SP is definitely great value compared to my TR3A as the SR is at least $600 cheaper and is a much more powerful and up to date machine.

Sony VAIO CS21SV and you

Posted by hotstubb on 30th April 2009

Sony VAIO CS21SV

Won’t buy another Sony. I am very disappointed with Sony VAIO. My first Sony VAIO’s power connector broke after two years. Now this new one I bought three month ago, the charger stopped working. This is very annoying because all my files are in the computer. Sony VAIO CS21SV is amazing the quality of Sony is becoming so poor, and I am not going to buy another Sony for sure.

sony quality. My dad, mom and sister own vaio’s (that I use everyday) and i’m next, I love the compatibility sony has through it’s electronics with there sony pro duo memory cards, there customer service is great, my dad has had many questions that were answerd fast and he has been happy with them. What I have found is people sometimes blame computer makers for problems with windows ect.. I know alot about computers and windows, sony makes quality computers with fantastic looking designs. tech support is also a must have with a computer purchase and sony makes Sony VAIO CS21SV easy.

Perfect. Perfect product!fast shipping!

But I found BestBuy offer a upgrade hardware of same product with same price. -_- I love Sony VAIO CS21SV .
